A Journey to Higher Learning (with Lunch)

This expedition begins with a leisurely deluxe motorcoach drive to Simon Fraser University. The University, located at the top of a mountain, was designed by Arthur Erickson. After sightseeing with an SFU professor, guests reboard the coach and the tour continues along the upper levels highway, over the Lions Gate Bridge into Stanley Park, one of the largest civic parks in North America and home to an extensive rain forest. A brief stop is provided to view the hand carved Totem Poles, Prospect Point and Brockton Oval, before relaxing and enjoying a sumptuous lunch at the Fish House in Stanley Park.
Then it’s off on a seaside drive along Vancouver’s shoreline beaches to the University of British Columbia. UBC hold an international reputation for advanced research and learning. Guests are greeted by a faculty member and taken on a brief, yet very interesting tour of many of the facilities. Before returning back to the Hotel, guests are treated to a drive through Yaletown, China Town and Gastown, the oldest part of the city.
